  • Castile soap is an all-purpose soap that works just fine for all household and body cleaning.  Use it just like any other soap for laundry, general cleaning and body/hand soap.  For dishes, we don't dilute it in the sink, but rather add it to a small bowl next to the sink, and dilute about 20:1 to 30:1.  Then wash the dishes by dipping the dish cloth into the bowl, and washing each dish.  You can usually wash several dishes on one dip.  Then rinse as usual.  We call this "inside-out" dishwashing.  You end up using a lot less water in the long run too.  However, it's a good idea to soak the dishes first, by adding just a little water to each dish, and stacking them together in the sink, basically what you'd do if you were going to load them in the dishwaster anyway.

We don't recommend using Aspire Castile Liquid Soap in the dishwasher.  Because it doesn't contain chelants, it tends to leave a white haze on the dishes.  If you use your dishwasher, you're pretty much stuck with using a big corp dishwasher detergent that contains chelants and other nasty petrochemicals that prevent the scum.  For our part, we mainly use the dishwasher as a drying rack after washing the dishes.  We figure as long as it's in the kitchen, we may as well put it to use and it gets the dishes out of sight so the kitchen is tidy.
